
House of Uwe is an African bespoke fashion store that blends rich cultural heritage with modern style. On our online fashion store, users can design their own outfits by themselves or select an already existing design and input their exact body measurements right on our web platform, while we sew and deliver to the customer’s door in the shortest possible time.
As a new business, Uwe needed a strong brand identity that truly reflects what it stands for—African-inspired fashion that’s well-made and stylish, bespoke, and an online fashion store. The challenge was to create a strong brand identity that felt premium enough to highlight its attention to detail and quality, yet friendly and welcoming to everyday fashion shoppers looking for stylish, bespoke or ready-made pieces.
I created a strong brand identity that reflects Uwe’s mix of African fashion, bespoke, and online fashion store — modern, stylish, and deeply rooted in African culture, ensuring the brand stands out and resonates with its target audience.
Logo design: The primary Uwe logo is a combination mark that infuses the core values of the business… African culture, bespoke, and online fashion store. The logo was designed to be bold but welcoming, maintaining a balance between premium quality and approachable. The concept of the brand mark is a strategic and creative fusion of the 3 core elements of the Uwe brand… a simplified and stylized map of Africa representing “African fashion”, a cart representing “online shopping”, and the different parts of the logo representing “bespoke”. Overall, the Uwe logo depicts a collection of fashion wear in a cart (one of the desired actions Uwe wants its users to take on their platform) and represents what the brand stands for.
Brand colors: The brand color palette was carefully selected to reflect warmth and grounded, rich African culture, and approachability. Led by main brand colors #B43937 (dark crimson), #EE473A (fiery coral) and #F59A38 (golden tangerine). Secondary brand colors #033F81 (midnight ocean), #2C7744 (forest emerald). Neutral brand colors #FFFFFF and #202020.
Brand fonts: A mix of stylish, modern, and clean sans-serif fonts for a look that’s both elegant and approachable. This strategic selection of fonts ensures the Uwe brand looks and feels premium but never too formal.
Brand Pattern: The Uwe brand pattern was created to add depth and reinforce the unique brand visual identity… Used for products, packaging, tags, to enhance brand recognition.
